Chris Jeuken third in Broadford
With the cycling racing season only 2 weeks in motion, it was once again newly signed Chris Jeuken of the Visit Nenagh.ie cycling team hitting the headlines. Last Sunday, Broadford Co. Limerick was the venue, a 105 km race with a lot of climbing to be done.
From the start it was Eddie Dunbar, winner of last years Visit Nenagh Classic A3 race who set the race on fire, he escaped in the early stages of the race. A chase group with Chris Jeuken, Paidi O'Brien and Dylan O'Brien was formed behind the leader, but unfortunately their efforts to close the gap on Dunbar did not succeed. Dunbar took the victory , followed by former pro Paidi O'Brien, leaving with Chris Jeuken with third place. Chris Jeuken is only in his first season at senior level and has some serious form in the last two races, long may it continue.
Mark Shannon was the best placed Visit Nenagh.ie rider in Navan on Sunday, he finished 14th in the Cycleways Cup, which was won by Damien Shaw.
