TIPPERARY V GALWAY ALL IRELAND SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Good luck to the Tipperary senior footballers and management for their All Ireland senior football championship game against Galway on Saturday evening next, June 29 at Pearse Stadium, Salthill.

ALL IRELAND SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Tipperary will play the losers of next weekend’s Leinster senior hurling semi-final replay in the Phase 2 qualifier game on Saturday July 6. The game will be played at a Kilkenny or Dublin venue. Full details will be available after the Leinster semi-final replay result is known.

CLEAN IRELAND RECYCLING IS NEW SPONSOR FOR COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Tipperary County Board is delighted to welcome Clean Ireland Recycling (www.cleanireland.ie) as title sponsors of the Tipperary GAA senior, intermediate, junior, U-21 and minor football and hurling championships for 2013. The new sponsorship took effect from last weekend’s games and will see the multi-award winning company sponsor adult championships in both codes through to the end of this year’s championship, with an option to extend for successive years.

Announcing the sponsorship,  Clean Ireland Recycling Tipperary Sales Manager  Bill Ryan, from Thurles, said:  “We are delighted to have agreed this partnership with Tipperary GAA.  We operate what has been voted by the industry as Ireland’s leading kerbside collection and in recent months have expanded that service to all of Tipperary so we see this sponsorship as a really good fit for us and Tipperary GAA.

“The Tipperary club championships obviously reach into every corner of the county and have such fantastic history.  They remain amongst the most competitive and most followed championships in the country and we are proud to be associated with them.”

Welcoming Clean Ireland Recycling on board as sponsors, Tipperary GAA Chairman Sean Nugent said:  “This is a timely boost for our championships as they are just underway and to have a keen sponsor come on board at this stage again shows the reach and popularity of our club games. We are delighted also that Clean Ireland Recycling are our new partners as in Tipperary we are always focussed on excellence and that’s something that we share with our new sponsor.  As an award winning company, they set out to provide the most efficient and comprehensive waste management service, which at the end of the day protects the environment. We’re very much about building for the future in Tipperary football and hurling and Clean Ireland Recycling very much have their eye on the future through their environmentally friendly operations so we are well matched.”

Clean Ireland Recycling is a multi-award winning firm and is also one of the largest family owned waste management companies in Ireland. Founded in 1990, the company operates primarily in the Mid-West, in counties Tipperary, Limerick and Clare and operates on the ‘recycle more pay less’ principle, enabling customers to reduce their bills by offering them greater recycling options than other providers.

In 2011 Clean Ireland Recycling took over the South Tipperary local authority’s waste service and has since gone on to expand its operations across the entire county by taking over services in both the Thurles and Nenagh areas.  It now provides a waste management service from Clonmel right up to Roscrea and even into Birr, Co. Offaly.

Last year Clean Ireland Recycling, which in the late 1980s became the first company in Ireland and among the first in Europe to introduce the ‘wheelie-bin’ to households, won the “Kerbside Collection Service of the Year” at the prestigious Repak national recycling awards.  It followed up that win earlier this year when it won a National Cré Award for its ‘Brown Bin’ collection service.

It has invested heavily over the past five years or more to encourage more recycling, including over €1.5m on rolling out their multi-bin-service to householders within the region.  They provide separate bins for recyclables, food waste, glass and general waste.  This includes the largest and only 360ltr recycling bin of its kind in the country, which facilitates increased recycling.

The company has also invested a further €700,000 in specially commissioned, multi-compartment collection trucks – the only ones of their kind in Europe – to keep waste separated post collection.  Last year also Clean Ireland Recycling completed a €750,000 investment in a state-of-the-art treatment facility for non-recyclable waste, which is processed at the facility before being baled and shipped to Scandinavia where it is used by energy companies as a fuel for district heating systems and for the generation of electricity to be exported to the national grid.

The net result of this overall investment is that Clean Ireland Recycling is on track to become the first waste management company in Ireland to divert all its waste away from landfill.
