The Friends of Tipperary Football are thrilled to launch their new Euro Millions lotto syndicate offering all members 840 chances to win the jackpot for only €20. To join please visit our website www.friendsoftipperaryfootball.com or ask any committee member.

Everyone who joins the syndicate will be part of a team who will share the winnings from every Euro Millions lotto draw over the duration of the syndicate and who knows, together, we might even hit the jackpot!

All funds raised will go directly towards the preparation of our inter-county teams from under-14 right up to senior as they seek to bring silverware back to the Premier county, in this the centenary year of Bloody Sunday. The effort that the players and management put into representing Tipperary is huge and they deserve all the support that we can give to allow them to reach their potential and achieve their dreams.

The Friends of Tipperary Football Euro Millions lotto syndicate will purchase entries in all the Euro Millions plus lotto draws from September 1, 2020, to April 29, 2021. The winnings with be distributed as per the terms and conditions.

CÚL CAMPS

Kelloggs GAA Cúl Camps will commence in Tipperary on 20th July for six weeks to 28th August. This is a very welcome outcome in light of where we were and where we have come from. Clubs, parents and especially children can now look forward to some much needed on-field activity. Understandably some clubs have decided not to host a camp in the circumstances, and that is very reasonable. Clubs that are going ahead should have in place all protocols around 'Covid-19' for which documentation has now been released to all clubs.

Please check the following links for updates
GAA Covid resources and latest information: www.GAA.ie or https://learning.gaa.ie/covid19
Health Questionnaire available at: https://returntoplay.gaa.ie.
GAA eLearning Awareness Module available at https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd/#/

Some important points to note are;

 Club coordinators and assistants should complete the 'Covid-19' online awareness course prior to hosting the camp and have certification printed.

 'Covid-19' protocols around sanitation, cleansing and signage should be in place

 All coaching staff attending camps will have completed a rigorous training program to ensure safe and professional running of camps.

 All bookings for camps can ONLY be completed online.

 There is NOT a requirement to cap numbers, but clubs can arrange their own requirement with Games Development staff.

 Tipperary camps will have a policy whereby members of the hosting club ONLY attend the camp.

 There will be strictly NO exchanging of kits

 In line with GAA policy clubs are not entitled to run a camp prior to running a Cúl Camp

 Clubs who wish to run a camp after completing a Cúl Camp must apply for permission to the County Committee

Games Development staff will continue to liaise directly with camp coordinators. In the meantime for clubs hosting and participants attending we hope you all have an enjoyable and safe camp.

FUNDRAISING EVENT

Sixteen-year-old Shaun Hilmi plays hurling and Gaelic football for Nenagh Éire Óg and is also a regular tennis player and a talented athlete with Nenagh Athletics Club.

In recent months he started to feel discomfort in his hip which, unfortunately, has been diagnosed as Ewings Sarcoma Cancer, a rare condition that only affects 2.93 people out of a million. This aggressive disease has already spread to his lungs and a ten-centimetre tumour has been discovered on his right glute muscle, which was lying on a nerve and has caused him immense pain.

Shaun will have to undergo six cycles of chemotherapy, surgery and possibly radium. That’s without including the physiotherapy sessions and rehabilitation he will have to complete after his treatment to get back 100%. Unfortunately, in the world we live in today, money talks! Shaun’s treatment will be very expensive and which he needs to give him the best possible chance of making a full recovery.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up, called Shaun's Journey, and we are asking the GAA community to come together and help Shaun complete his journey back to full fitness.

All donations, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated by Shaun and the Hilmi family.

His cousin Jake Morris and local star Barry Coffey have started a 30-second plank campaign to raise funds while former Tipperary minor hurling star Shane Long has sent his best wishes. You can follow Shaun’s journey on Instagram.
