COUNTY & DIVISIONAL FIXTURES
The draw was made for the Tipperary Water County Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Finals on Monday night last and surprisingly resulted in three repeat pairings as per the group stages with potentially a fourth as well depending on the result of the one preliminary quarter-final.
The draw is as follows; Thurles Sarsfields v Kilruane MacDonaghs , Clonoulty-Rossmore v Drom and Inch, Eire Óg Annacarty-Donohill v Mullinahone and Loughmore-Castleiney v winners of preliminary QF (Borris-Ileigh v Carrick Swan). These quarter-finals to be played on the weekend of September 17th with the preliminary quarter-final going ahead on Sunday next September 10th in Leahy Park, Cashel between Borris-Ileigh and Carrick Swan at 3:30pm.
The senior hurling relegation will commence with round 1 this weekend. Three teams will contest the relegation in a league format with the bottom two teams relegated to the Seamus Ó Riain Cup. On Sunday next, Kiladangan meet Ballina in Newport at 5:30pm. Round 2 is Ballina v Burgess and round 3 is Burgess v Kiladangan. With Carrick Swan winning their divisional championship they are excluded from the senior relegation series.
In the Tipperary Water Seamus Ó Riain Cup the quarter-finals also go ahead this Sunday, September 10th, starting with a double header in Nenagh with Toomevara v Silvermines at 1:30pm and Templederry Kenyons v Roscrea at 3pm. Elsewhere, JK Brackens play Lorrha-Dorrha in Cloughjordan at 5:30pm and Holycross-Ballycahill meet Clonakenny in the Ragg again at 5:30pm. Also, in the Seamus Ó Riain the first games in the relegation round robin take place on Sunday with Moycarkey-Borris v Borrisokane in Toomevara at 3:30pm and Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams v Ballingarry in Leahy Park, Cashel at 5pm..
Next to the Tipperary Water Intermediate Hurling Championship where the draw for the preliminary quarter finals was also made on Monday night last, with all games to be played by Wednesday, September 13th next, with the pairings and schedules as follows; on Saturday next September 9th - Ballinahinch v Cashel King Cormac’s in Holycross at 4pm; Kilsheelan-Kilcash v Carrick Davins in Monroe at 5pm; Moyne-Templetuohy v Thurles Sarsfields in Gortnahoe at 5pm and Moneygall v Kiladangan.in Cloughjordan at 5:30pm. Then on Sunday September 10th its Drom and Inch v Gortnahoe-Glengoole in Templetuohy at 3:30pm and finally on Wednesday next September 13th in Dr. Morris Park at 7:30pm Moyle Rovers play St Marys.
The Tipperary Water Intermediate Hurling Quarter Finals are then scheduled to be played also on the weekend of the September 17th as follows - Moyne-Templetuohy/Thurles Sarsfields v Moneygall/Kiladangan; Moyle Rovers/St Marys v Kilsheelan-Kilcash/Carrick Davins; Drom and Inch/Gortnahoe-Glengoole v Ballinahinch/Cashel King Cormac’s and Sean Treacys v Cappawhite.
The Intermediate Hurling Relegation will commence this weekend with the first round tie between Boherlahan-Dualla and Galtee Rovers-St. Pecaun going ahead in Páirc Ciocaim, Dundrum on Sunday next, September 10th at 12noon. Roscrea applied to be relegated voluntary to junior and this was agreed by the county C.C.C. With Cashel King Cormac’s and Gortnahoe-Glengoole winning their divisional championship, just three teams remain to play in a league system with the bottom team relegated. The two remaining fixtures are as follows; round 2 Galtee Rovers-St. Pecaun v Lattin Cullen Gaels and round 3 Lattin Cullen Gaels v Boherlahan-Dualla.
In the four senior divisional finals played last weekend, congratulations go to Carrick Swan, Borris-Ileigh and Thurles Sarsfields who won their respective hurling divisional finals and also to Arravale Rovers as they won the West football final.
Carrick Swan continuing their recent rich vein of form caused something of an upset by dethroning South Champions Killenaule 1-13 to 0-14 in the Clonmel Oil South Senior Hurling Final in Fethard GAA Park on Saturday evening. This success has ensured a place for the 'Swan in the preliminary County quarter-finals on Sunday.
Also, on Saturday evening, Borris-Ileigh collected their divisional title with victory over Nenagh Éire Óg 2-19 to 0-18 in the Hibernian Inn North Senior Final. County star Brendan Maher (Borris-Ileigh) collected the man of the match award in this final. Borris as indicated previously head to the preliminary quarter-final next weekend.
The Ragg was the setting for the Centenary Agri Senior Hurling Mid Final where Thurles Sarsfields were pushed all the way by a spirited Upperchurch-Drombane side, with the result in doubt right up to the final whistle as Sars held out for a one point win, 1-14 to 2-10. There was some consolation for the 'Church as James Barry was named man of the match after a superb performance.
To senior football, where the Shane Hennessy Agri-Advisor West Senior Football Championship Final was won by Arravale Rovers following their 4-10 to 2-10 last Saturday in Annacarty.
Staying in the West Division, this year's Tipperary Co-Op Super Valu Senior Hurling Final will be fought out between Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill and Clonoulty-Rossmore with both sides having come through the round robin format with Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams the team to lose out. This match goes ahead in Golden next Sunday, September 10th at 3pm.
The Gleeson Quarries Mid Senior Football Final takes place this Saturday evening, September 9th in Littleton at 5:30pm as Loughmore-Castleiney meet Upperchurch-Drombane in a repeat of last year's decider.
In the Tipperary Water County Football League Division 3, Ballylooby-Castlegrace meet Mullinahone in the final in Ned Hall Park on Saturday next, September 9th with a 4pm throw in.
In the two Tipperary Water County Hurling League finals played last Sunday, congratulations to Cappawhite who won the Division 4 title by defeating Cashel King Cormacs and also to Boherlahan -Dualla following their defeat of Thurles Gaels in the Division 6 decider.

2017 DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
Club committees please note that Friday week, September 15th is the closing date for applications for the 2017 Development Grants, as outlined at the County Board meeting in July.
Applications should be forwarded to the County Development Officer, PJ Maher (087-2489064 and pjmaher@campionins.com).

TIPPERARY GAA MEMBERS DRAW
The September Draw will be held this Friday night, September 9th at Noonan's Bar, Ballingarry, Roscrea with Knockshegowna GAA Club where Padraig Killeen, Munnia Aglish will be presented with the first prize of the August Draw.
HANDBALL
Ballina and Lahorna hosted the first round of the Munster Juveniles last weekend where Tipperary were up against Cork in all games with the winners going forward to meet Clare in the next round.
The following is the list of Tipperary winners, starting with boys; U13d Eoin Carroll and Jack Mulcahy (Lahorna), U14s Rory Grace (Lahorna), U15s Cormac Doheny (Lahorna). The Tipperary girls progressing to the next round are; U12s Hannah Grace (Lahorna) U12d Leanne Gould and Christine Percy (Lahorna), U14s Amy McKeogh (Ballina), U14d Anna Mulcahy and Aine Spain (Lahorna), U16s Laura Shinners (Lahorna) and U16d Siobhan Prentice and Isobel Farnan (Ballina).
In the All-Ireland Minor 60x30 Final in Croke Park on Saturday James Prentice Ballina faced Diarmuid Mulkerrins from Galway. James got off to a great start taking the first 7 aces without reply. For the next ten exchanges of serve James could only add 3 aces where Mulkerrins was getting at least one in each service to tie the game at 10 all. The Galway man in two exchanges of serve clocked up the aces to lead 17-13. James got 2 more aces before Diarmuid finished off the game with 4 aces on the trot. The second game looked all over with the Galway man forging ahead to a 13 – 4 lead. James made a great comeback to make six aces on the trot. They were level at 15 and 17 when the Galway man pulled away to lead 19-17. The Tipp man fought back and finished off the game with 4 great aces. The final game saw a lot of exchanges of service with little between the players. The Galway man led 9-4 before James struck back to lead 10-9. Mulkerrins straight away made 4 aces to lead once again and after some great rallies and great scores they were tied at 16 all with both players tiring.
Mulkerins went to 18 and 'killed' an almost impossible fly shot at 19. He went on to take the last 2 scores to claim the Minor title for 2017. Well done to James on a great display and best of luck in the Doubles Semi Final against Cavan with partner Jerome Cahill from Lahorna.

Tipperary GAA has launched a loyalty CashBack Card which as a Tipperary supporter each individual that registers is doing their small bit in support of the county cause. Loyalty cards were sent out with club draw receipts to all members and as there is no charge in registering you can opt in immediately.
