May belongs to the Bealtaine Festival, celebrating creativity as we age. Age & Opportunity is the national organisation that inspires everyone to reach their full potential as they age.
This is an opportunity to engage in arts and cultural activities; opportunities for sport and physical activity; opportunities to learn and be involved as active citizens.
In Tipperary the County Arts service works in partnership with Tipperary Libraries to present and showcase the creativity found in abundance throughout the county.
In 2016 we look forward to a Bealtaine filled with activity across artforms including music, the spoken word, conversation, dance, theatre, visual arts and crafts etc .
In planning for 2016, the arts office is putting out a call for project proposals to artists across artforms based in the county.
The arts office programmes activities in a range of contexts during Bealtaine, usually with active retirement groups, in day care centres and arts and cultural venues throughout Tipperary. Please see Bealtaine programme 2015 for information at www.tipperarycoco.ie
Budgets are limited and we will put a selection process in place to review proposals submitted.
Performances usually have a duration of approx 1 hour (e.g. in a day care centre for example)
Longer project proposals may be considered and may be dependant on availability and interest of suitable groups
Garda vetting will apply to all artists providing an input to the Bealtaine Festival
Proposals should include
· An indicative 1-2 page typed A4 proposal
· Projected costs
· Artists CV- to include experience working in this context
· Samples of artwork- images, examples of music/performance etc
Please submit your proposals by e-mail to me at mary.quigley@tipperarycoco.ie by Friday, 15 January, 2016.
