Visit Nenagh.ie Classic 2014
The 3rd Visit Nenagh Classic will take place on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of April 2014 where well in excess of over 500 cyclists are expected to participate in a variety of cycling events in and around Nenagh. The cycling festival will kick of on the Saturday with a Team Time Trial on the old N7 between Five Alley and Birdhill. Nenagh town centre will be at the heart of all activities on Sunday the 13th. First race to hit the scenic roads of North Tipperary is the A4 category, closely followed by a new added element to the Visit Nenagh.ie Classic, a seperate Ladies race. The classic distance 154 km main race will depart at 11am, shortly followed by the A3 category riders who will cover a tough 104 km.
The centre of Nenagh will be a hive of activity on the day with a local food fair along with family entertainment and music. There will also be an opportunity for families to come out and participate in a family fun cycle, a 45 min route on fabulous refurbished cycling paths around the town is on offer.
Spring Clean in Ballycommon
National Spring Clean – join in a community clean up as a part of the An Taisce National Spring Clean. Saturday April 12th from 2pm until 4pm. Meet at Muintir na Tire Hall, Ballycommon at 2pm and roads will be assigned. It’s a sociable time for all ages. Bring along any litter pickers, gloves and hi viz vests if you have them. FREE Family Fun Cycle Sunday 13th April
FREE FAMILY FUN CYCLE - Organised by North Tipperary Sports Partnership Sunday 13th April 2014 @11.00am sharp. Starting at 11am sharp on Pearse Street and the finish line is on the race finishing straight on Pearse Street, Nenagh. Please gather at Cecil Walk Car Park at 10.30am to register. For safety reasons, it is critical this event starts at 11.00am sharp so that all family cyclists are safely back before the racing cyclists. The event will run for 45 mins and cover 7km. Refreshments served at the end. Park your bike in the secure bike park at Kenyon Street car park and watch the pros.
