The St. Mary’s Church of Ireland Nenagh Christmas Tree Festival continues until Sunday 21st December.
Friday 19th: 3.00 pm Organ music. 8.00 pm Compline by Candlelight.
Saturday 20th: 8.00 pm Blue Christmas Service**
Sunday 21st: 3.00 pm Organ music. 7.45 pm Result of ‘Favourite Tree’ ballot and Raffle Draw. 8.00 pm Festival closes.
** Blue Christmas, or ‘Longest Night’ is a service for people suffering from pain, loss, isolation or grief, in the Advent Season. This service is usually held on or around 21st December – the longest night of the year. It is for those for whom Christmas time is not a time of joy – for those who are lonely, mourning, alienated, cast out from family celebrations. A Blue Christmas service offers special recognition of the struggles many people face during this season. The Blue Christmas Service will take place in St Mary’s at 8.00 pm on Saturday 20th December.
