Last year’s winner of the A3 support race Eddie Dunbar is returning back to Nenagh as part of the National Junior team. Second year Junior Dunbar from Kanturk was by far the strongest last year on the North Tipperary roads and is coming back to get his 2 in a row. Eddie Dunbar has since last year’s victory travelled the world, representing Ireland during the World Championships in Florence (Italy) and is just back from racing in Belgium and in France. Dylan O'Brien, third in last year’s event and part of the National Junior Team is also returning to Nenagh. The team is complemented by Michael O'Loughlin, Stephen Shanahan and Mark Downey.
Cycling Ireland have also confirmed a National Junior Ladies team for the Visit Nenagh.ie Classic. Laura Cooke from Limerick is the only regional rider on the National team, with Josie Knight, Rachel Kaye Mellor, Naoise Sheridan and Nicole Evans completing the team. Both teams will take part in the Team Time Trial and the Classic race on Sunday.
Marcus Christie of the An Post – Chain Reaction team is also confirmed to make his debut in the Visit Nenagh.ie Classic. Christie started this season very strong in France during the Etoile Besseges stage race, before returning back to base in “Belgium” to take part in some early season classics. Ronan McLaughlin, part of the An Post team in 2013 is also confirmed for next Sunday's showdown in Nenagh. McLaughlin was 5th in last year’s spectacle and is looking forward to the race on Sunday, boosted by a win last weekend in Coalisland.
