Statement from Tipperary County Board on retirement of Lar Corbett

"Tipperary County Board extends its best wishes to Lar Corbett on the announcement of his retirement from the Tipperary senior hurling panel. During a wonderful and illustrious career Lar at the height of his powers had few equals. Blessed with exquisite skill and breath-taking pace, Lar's performance in the 2010 All-Ireland Final in which he scored three scintillating goals on Tipp's way to victory guaranteed his place for eternity in hurling history and put him among the legion of greats in our treasured game. Of the many awards bestowed on him in 2010, he was also named hurler of the year confirming without question Lar's contribution to Tipperary's successes over his career. We are very grateful to him for his long, dedicated and decorated service to the county and we wish him all the best for the future.
