New Access Programme

Get Apprenticeship/Traineeship Ready – with the new Access Programme

Are you considering taking up an Apprenticeship, Traineeship or returning to full-time Education? Are you over 21 and been out of education/employment for some time? Teach an Léinn, Kenyon Str., Nenagh are now offering a new Access Programme – The Access Programme is a one-year, full-time course geared towards adults who wish to progress their education and training in a supportive, adult learning environment. No formal qualifications are required for this course. Course participants will acquire the necessary range of core skills and certification in modules that support the learner to confidently progress into an Apprenticeship, Traineeship or a Further Education programme.

To participate on the Access Programme applicants must meet the VTOS eligibility criteria.
Applicants must be over the age of 21, unemployed for at least six months (156 days) and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment. Eligible applicants will qualify for a VTOS training allowance at the same rate as their social welfare payment. VTOS participants under age 26 who move from an age-related reduced rate of Jobseeker’s Allowance will get a maximum VTOS training allowance rate of €203 per week. Courses are provided free of charge and meal and travel allowances are available as well as being eligible for free childcare under the Childcare Education and Training Support programme (CETS).
