Nenagh Walking Club Notes 21-10-2013

On Sunday 13th October twenty-eight Members travelled to Waterford for the Nire Valley Walking Festival which was based in the heart of the Comerage Moutains. This was a 5 hour challenging hike to the peak of Coumshingaun, through scenic valleys and cascading streams. The day ended with a meal at Brian Boru in Cashel.

Our next Sunday walk on the 27th October (Bank Holiday weekend) will be to the Three peaks of Slieve Felim, in Rearcross. This walk is suitable for all regular club walkers. The walk is mainly on forest roads, but will also include three short climbs to the different tops of Slieve Felim. The Leader for this Walk is Aidan Dillon (087) 9836750.  Meet in Kenyon St Car Park at 11.00 am or outside the GAA grounds in Newport at 11.30 am.

The Club’s AGM shall take place on Thursday 7th November in the HiB, Nenagh at 8.00 pm. Members are encouraged to come along as it is important that the programme for the coming year will reflect Member’s interests.

Our Tuesday evening’s brisk walk around for 90 mins around the town by-pass is proving to be very popular. If you are interested in joining this group we meet at Tesco’s  Car Park Nenagh at 7.30 pm. Contact Paddy 086-8562444.
