NENAGH WALKING CLUB
A large number of Club Members attended the Upperchurch Walking Festival over the weekend of Friday 8th to Sunday10th November. Upperchurch provided a wide variety of walks to cover all levels of fitness over the 3 days. As usual the hospitality extended to all visitors was excellent and we look forward to a return visit to Upperchurch for their Christmas Night Walk on Sunday 15th December.
The Club’s AGM took place on Thursday 7th November in the HiB, Nenagh at 8.00 pm whereby Officers for 2014 were elected & a Programme of Events was agreed for the next 6 months.
Our next Sunday outing on the 24th November shall be a level walk going from the University of Limerick to Corbally, Ardnacrusha & back to UL. This walk will take approx 2 hours & shall be led by Paddy Seymour (086) 8562444. We shall depart from Kenyon St Car Park at 11.00 am.
Our Christmas Function is scheduled for Sunday 8th December – this will consist of a Walk at Knockshegowna followed by a meal at the Fairways. Any Member that intends joining us should give their name to Mary Ryan (086) 8205766 before Thursday 28th November in order that she can firm up bookings.
Our Tuesday evening’s brisk walk around for 90 mins around the town by-pass is proving to be very popular. If you are interested in joining this group we meet at Tesco’s Car Park Nenagh at 7.30 pm. Contact Paddy 086-8562444.
The Club would like to extend their Deepest Sympathy to Club Member, Patricia Buckley, on their death of her Father, Patrick Buckley, Upperchurch (RIP).
