Nenagh Walking Club Notes 03-07-2014

Our next Sunday Hike on Sunday 6th July is to the Comeragh Mountains on the South Tipperary/Waterford Border.  We  will have a choice of 2 walks a B+/A Walk and a C/B Walk.

The B+/A walk will bring us right up to the Knockanaffrin Ridge which is 755 mts high. This hike which shall be led by Tom Fallon will take approx 4-4.5 hours and will involve steep climbs and descents. Therefore, it is suitable for experienced hikers only and will commence from the Nire Valley carpark at 11.30 am sharp.
The C/B walk is for moderate experienced walkers and will take in the Nire Valley to Sgilloge Lakes.   This hike shall be led by John Hogan and will take approx 3-3.5 hours and will involve gradual height gain.

Due to the distance to the Comeragh’s we shall be leaving Nenagh early at 9.30 am from Kenyon St carpark. If we have enough Members interested in going on Sunday next we will organise a bus to the Comeragh’s.  It is important you contact Maura Bowe on 086 8360621 to confirm your interest in order that we can book a bus if we have sufficient numbers.
