Nenagh Walking Club - Aonach Ar Siúl 23/04/2019

A great number of walkers out on the annual Good Friday walk taking in the Arra Mountains, having a little rest and enjoying the glorious sunshine at Townlough Upper quarry and lake.


Members please note the following hikes for your information:

As the club are now offering a wide variety of hikes on different days, it is important that note is taken of the day, departure time and departure point of the hikes. The schedule can be checked on

Thursday April 25th departing Tesco at 10.30am and Step, Silvermines at 10.50am to do Silvermines Lucky Dip led by Cyril 086 3721862.

Note anyone interested in St Kevins Way from the Wicklow Gap on Thursday May 2nd  contact Willie 087 6633577 to book a seat on the bus.

Tuesday April 30th departing Spar Portroe 7.15pm to do  our annual bluebell walk in Castlelough woods. Contact Paddy 086 8562444.

Sunday May 5th, departing Kenyon Street car park at 11am to travel to Ballyhoura to do the Blackrock loop, (grade B level) Contact John 087 2744685.

Non-members are welcome to do 3 walks before joining the club, however, we would ask that non members would contact the walk leader prior to the walk to ensure that they have the fitness level required for the walk and discuss walking gear requirement. Likewise any members unsure of hike suitability should ring walk leader before the hike.

Membership of the club is €45 which includes membership of Mountaineering Ireland and also covers insurance from November to October. Hiking boots essential for all hill walks. Absolutely no runners. Visit  our website for further information about the club and upcoming walks.
