The first meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District Council took place today where Cllr. Fiona Bonfield from the Labour Party was elected as Cathaoirleach.
Cllr. Bonfield defeated Independent’s Joe Hannigan by six votes to three after being proposed by Phyl Bugler (Fine Gael) and seconded by Mattie Ryan Coole (Fianna Fáil).
Cllr. Hughie McGrath (Independent) was elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach after being proposed by Cllr. John Carroll (Fianna Fáil) and seconded by Cllr. Ger Darcy (Fine Gael).
