Nenagh Éire Óg Club Notes - 26/05/2014

Best Wishes: All the very best to Michael Heffernan, Paddy Murphy and the Tipperary hurlers when they face Limerick in next Sunday afternoon’s Munster semi-final in Semple Stadium, Thurles. Our best wishes also go to Daire Quinn and Tommy Heffernan who are members of John Carroll’s intermediate panel which also faces Limerick opposition on Sunday. All the very best lads!

Senior: The Nenagh Éire Óg senior hurlers have been drawn to face Roscrea in round two of the Hibernian Inn-sponsored North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship which is expected to place on the week-ending June 8th.

Junior A: The Nenagh Éire Óg junior A team missed out on a league semi-final place following a 0-15 apiece draw with Burgess on Saturday evening - for a report on this encounter please see the club website. The Blues’ junior A team will now focus their attention on the Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship which the Blues last won in 2012.

Junior B: The group stage of the North Tipperary Junior B Hurling League came to a close last weekend - Éire Óg had already secured their place in the semi-finals following a win over Toomevara and will now face Lorrha in the last four; that game is expected to take place this weekend. Please keep an eye on the club website for fixture details.

Tipperary Clubs Draw: It is that time of year again when we ask everyone associated with the club to support the Tipperary GAA clubs draw. With over €500,000 in prizes this year including twenty-four cars, thirty Lotto jackpots and many cash prizes, this draw is the ideal mechanism for supporting the club’s activities - 50 per cent of the draw money comes back directly to the club. Whether you are a new member or have been a member of the draw for a number of years everyone associated with the club really values and appreciates your support. Tickets are priced at €100 each and payment can be arranged in a variety of ways - for further information please contact draw co-ordinator Marion Ryan on 086 123 9222 or any club officer.

The Blues’ 10K Run: The Blues’ 10K Run, which has been approved by the Athletic Association of Ireland, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 15th at 10.30am - the event will also include a 5K fun run and family walk. Route maps for the event are now available on the club website.

Lotto: This week’s lotto jackpot of €3,000 was not won. Lucky dip winners: Damien Martin (Moneygall), Pauline Hynes (New York - online winner!), Michael Quigley (Knigh), Kitty Chadwick (Yewston), Kit Madden (Rockford).
