Nenagh Éire Óg - Club Notes 15/12/2014

AGM: The MacDonagh Park Complex hosted the annual club AGM on Thursday night, December 11th. Comprehensive reports were presented by club secretary Declan Bailey, treasurer Séamus Cleary, juvenile secretary Anne Kennedy and club chairman Jim Nagle. The club finances have been managed in a considered manner and as a result Nenagh Éire Óg remains on a solid financial footing. Chairman Jim Nagle commended the work of the Healthy Club Project team, the juvenile club and his fellow officers while also appealing for more volunteers to come forward. Officers elected: chairman Jim Nagle, secretary Declan Bailey, treasurer Séamus Cleary, vice-chairman Enda Costello and PRO Brian McDonnell. Club committee for 2015: Rory Flannery, Matt Lillis, Jim Kennedy, Noel Coonan, Martin Morris, Marion Ryan, Bartley Ryan, Noel Tomlinson, Eamon Brennan, Michael Madden, Michael Ryan, Jane Devaney, Willie Jones, Fr Tom Seymour, Eddie Sheary, Liam Heffernan, Paddy O’Meara, Noel Coffey, Enda O’Sullivan, Jimmy Hourigan, Mark Long and Derek Lillis.

Book: The first two volumes of the book ‘A Central Culture - Gaelic Sport in Nenagh’, which has been compiled by Dónal A Murphy, PJ Maxwell and Nancy Murphy, are now on sale for a combined price of €40. Copies of the book can be obtained in selected local shops or alternatively from officers of the club. ‘A Central Culture - Gaelic Sport in Nenagh’ is now on sale at the following book shops: Nenagh Book Shop, Eason’s, Cleary’s Garage and Cinnamon Alley Café. Those interested can also purchase a copy via the club website. Membership: Membership for 2015 is priced at €25 - family membership option A is priced at €60 while option B is priced at €85.

Shop Local: Nenagh Éire Óg is asking its members and supporters to shop local this Christmas. The businesses of Nenagh will be open seven days a week from Sunday, November 30th right through to Christmas Eve.

Lotto: There was no winner of last week’s lotto jackpot of €1,000. The five €50 lucky dip winners were: Michael Hegarty (c/o Nenagh Guardian), Liz Flannery (Cork), Ger Sherlock (Knockinpearse), Seán White (c/o Andy’s) & James Ryan (Hamilton Drive).
