Nenagh Eire Og Club Notes 07 December 2020

Tipperary

Commiserations go to the Tipperary footballers who were defeated by Mayo in the All-Ireland semi-final on Sunday afternoon in Croke Park. They fought to the bitter end and in doing so, honoured the victims of Bloody Sunday 100 years ago with determination and dignity. By winning the Munster championship they brought huge joy to a lot of people in this bleak year.

Bartley Ryan – The Toughest

All of us in the club wish to congratulate Bartley Ryan who is featured in The Toughest Season, a new photographic book chronicling the 2020 GAA year, which is on sale on the Sportsfile website. It is a collaboration between AIB, Sportsfile, the GAA and the Camogie Association. All proceeds from the sale of the book go towards AIB’s charity partners; AGE NI, Alone, FoodCloud, Soar & Pieta House.

Junior-A Management

The club are delighted to announce that Ger McCarthy has been appointed as junior-A manager for 2021. Ger will be aided by Paul Lillis, John Phelan, David Minogue and Derek Lillis. We wish to thank outgoing manager Eddie Tucker for all of his diligent hard-work over the last two years with this team and we extend our best wishes to Bryan Darcy in his new role with Cashel King Cormacs.

AGM

The club’s AGM will take place this Thursday via Zoom. All members should have, at this stage, received a link to the meeting. If you haven’t yet received the link, please contact any committee member. A digital copy of the AGM booklet has also been distributed and again, if you don’t receive or indeed would prefer a hard copy, please contact club secretary Catherine McTiernan.
