Nenagh Éire Óg Club Notes - 03/06/2014

Well Done: Congratulations to Tommy Heffernan and Daire Quinn who featured in Tipperary's 3-17 to 1-22 intermediate extra-time win over Limerick at Semple Stadium, Thurles on Sunday. Daire Quinn played corner-back while up front Tommy Heffernan scored 1-3, created a goal and struck for the winning point in extra time. The Munster final against Cork or Clare will take place on Wednesday, June 25th.

Senior: Nenagh Éire Óg senior team return to action in the Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship on Saturday, June 7th when the Blues take on Roscrea in Toomevara at 7.30pm. The lads would really appreciate your support for this key game - a win would propel the senior side into the quarter-finals.

Junior B: On Friday, June 6th Nenagh Éire Óg face Lorrha-Dorrha in a North Tipperary Junior B Hurling League Semi-Final in Borrisokane at 7.30pm. Conor Ryan’s men would appreciate your support for this clash.

Best Wishes: Our thoughts this week go to the Nenagh Éire Óg players who are preparing to sit state exams. All the very best lads!

Healthy Club Project: The Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project team will host the second Well Being & Mental Health Seminar on Friday, June 6th at 8pm in the Abbey Court Hotel. Admission is free. The main speaker on the night is Tony Butler (SMA Missionary). Fr Tony will tell us how he has found a way through his depression and give hope to others. This event is open to all and represents an opportunity for club members and the wider community to become informed on the many issues surrounding depression and mental health. In addition there will be feedback from the team’s first event and the plan for the future will be revealed.

Tipperary Clubs Draw: It is that time of year again when we ask everyone associated with the club to support the Tipperary GAA clubs draw. With over €500,000 in prizes this year including twenty-four cars, thirty Lotto jackpots and many cash prizes, this draw is the ideal mechanism for supporting the club’s activities - 50 per cent of the draw money comes back directly to the club. Whether you are a new member or have been a member of the draw for a number of years everyone associated with the club really values and appreciates your support. Tickets are priced at €100 each and payment can be arranged in a variety of ways - for further information please contact draw co-ordinator Marion Ryan on 086 123 9222 or any club officer.

The Blues’ 10K Run: The Blues’ 10K Run, which has been approved by the Athletic Association of Ireland, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 15th at 10.30am - the event will also include a 5K fun run and family walk. Route maps for the event are now available on the club website - click here for details - see you all on June 15th!

Lotto: No jackpot winner. Lucky dips: Killian & Conor Malone (Knockalton), Paschal Nolan (Ciamalta Road), David Hogan (Ballinree), Regina O’Meara (Dromineer), Mick Gowan (c/o Rocky’s) - the jackpot now stands at €3,200.
