Nenagh Éire Óg Camogie - Club Notes 20/03/2017

Senior Camogie. Nenagh Eire Og Senior Camogie team made history on Sunday when they became the first ever Senior Camogie team in the town. The very young team faced the Mighty Drom and Inch in a County League game in the Ragg and even though the result went against the team the attitude and commitment shown by the team augers well for us for the season ahead . Drom and Inch ran out 2.9 to 1.2 winners but only after they faced a heroic battle against a youthful Nenagh Eire Og team .The hard work and dedication of past and present Committee members , players and parents have come to fruition with the gaining of Senior status by winning the Intermediate county final last year . Sundays historic team was Sarah Quigley , Kate O Connor , Rachel Maher (Capt) , Ruth Hassett , Zoe Gratton , Hazel MCAuliffe , Kristen Howard , Alanna Morris (1.2) Rachel O Connor, Aishlin O Brien , Cíara McGrath , Michelle Collins , Alicia Hallinan , Emer Ryan , Fiona Hennessey , Mairéad Sheridan, Cara Mulqueen , Sarah Kennedy , Orlaith Kennedy , Becky McGrath , Niamh Ryan , Niamh Sheridan .

Celebration night. The club will be holding a celebration night in the Scouts Hall in April to celebrate our rise to Senior status . We would like all past and present and indeed future members to help organise the night . Please contact Séamie Morris at 0872859125 for details

U 14s our u 14s lined out against Cashel on Sunday and due to the unavailability of the designated Referee we played a well contested challenge match. We are due to play Newport away this Sunday depending on the availability of playing fields. We want to wish Chelsea McGrath a speedy recovery from her recent injury.

Clothes Collection . Our annual clothes collection is April 22nd so anyone with any spare items after your most recent spring clean can contact any committee member. You can turn your waste into real money for your club.

Congratulations to Grace O Brien and the Tipperary Senior Camogie team on their win on Sunday away to Dublin.

Congrats to and best of luck to  Ella Carey  and her Borrisokane Community college who have a second bite on winning the All Ireland schools Camogie title next Saturday after a battling draw last Saturday . Go on and win it now

Flag Day. We will have our annual flag day in Nenagh March 25th on the streets of Nenagh we are looking for volunteers and of course ask the public to be generous for this important fundraiser.

Registration. A gentle reminder that all team management and players must be paid up members of club
