Following on from last weeks confirmation by Failte Ireland that the Nenagh Tourist Office will remain open for the 2013 season, it has now also been confirmed that Nenagh Castle will re-open in the coming weeks.
Nenagh Castle can be accessed via Banba Square and guided tours will be available as the Office of Public Works is providing training for two interns to carry out these tours. The date for re-opening will be decided shortly as will the times that the castle can be accessed during the day.
Built from limestone, Nenagh Castle measures fifty-five feet in external diameter at the base and rises to a height of one hundred feet. The Castle features four storeys and thanks to a recent renovation this wonderful landmark now represents the town’s premier tourist attraction.
