The body of LIT student Steven Kavanagh was found on March 24th in the River Shannon. R.I.P. He had been missing since March 6th. It's understood that his body was found in canal waters near the power station at Ardnacrusha. The 21 year-old from Clonlara was vice-president of the LIT Students Union. His body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem will take place.
In cooperation with Killaloe Coast Guard Unit and Rescue 115, Lough Derg SAC S&R Unit were involved again on Sunday March 30th in the search for a missing man who entered the water on March 21st. There were 4 searches carried out and they were joined by members from the Kilkee and Burren SAC's. The club would like to express their thanks to the people who provided the food and sustenance to the divers involved. As of yet the person has not been found.
