Fundraising Walker to Visit Nenagh

Head of Media and Communications at Christian Aid, Adrian Horsman, is undertaking a 200 mile walk from St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast to St Mary's Cathedral in Limerick. Adrian started out on his journey at 9.00am on last Saturday morning walking on his own with a rucksack and bivi bag and some water. "I am doing this for all those children whom I met in Africa as they carried water for miles every day on foot. The big difference between our walks is that they don't have any choice." said Adrian.

Christian Aid is an international aid and development agency working to overcome poverty in some of the world’s poorest communities in 50 countries. They work where the need is greatest, regardless of race or religion, helping people to tackle the problems they face and build the life they deserve. At home and overseas they also campaign to change the structures that keep people poor, challenging inequality and injustice.

Christian Aid have three essential aims:

  • To deliver real, practical benefits on the ground
  • To speak out where there is injustice
  • To campaign for change

If the walk goes to plan over the next two days Adrian hopes to reach Nenagh by tomorrow night, Friday 5th July ahead of his arrival in Limerick on Saturday. We wish Adrian all the best and congratulate him on his fundraising efforts.
