Part of a new breed of Irish talent, guitarist John O’Shea has performed as soloist and featured player for the Irish Composers Collective, RTE National Concert Orchestra and the Dublin Philharmonic. John had toured both Ireland and the US as Soloist and a member of the Dublin Guitar Quartet, Ireland's leading guitar ensemble.
This performance at Nenagh Arts Centre is part of the launch tour for John's Debut album, 'Irish Guitar' which is a collection of original arrangements of traditional Irish music. It has been described as "Alchemy on a six string" by Irish Music Magazine and "a masterpiece" by Fr. Pat Ahern, founder of Siamsa Tíre, Ireland's national fold theatre. The concert will consist of music from the album as well as music for Violin and Guitar featuring Anna Jane Ryan one of Ireland's best young Violinists. There will be traditional Irish music and original arrangements of works by Handel and Rodrigo.
The recital takes place at 8pm, this Saturday February 7th in the training rooms in the Arts Centre. Admission is €5.
