Just arrived from America to his ancestral home of Inisfree, former boxer Sean Thornton (John Wayne) sets his eye on the beautiful Mary Kate Danaher (Maureen O’Hara) and sparks fly. Under the watchful eyes of the various relatives and villagers, love might blossom, but for Mary Kate’s brother, the boorish Will Danaher who takes a dislike to the American on sight.
