Take your health in good hands
This December, St. Mary’s Church of Ireland Nenagh will host Nenagh’s second Christmas Tree Festival. In 2014, The Christmas Tree Festival had over 80 trees all created and decorated with the support of local businesses, schools, charities and individuals. The Festival provides a unique way for the businesses of Nenagh who choose to participate to promote themselves and gives an extra dimension to the spirit and enjoyment of Christmas to the many visitors that will come through the Church! The benefits don’t stop there as the Christmas Tree Festival will provide valuable fundraising for 2015’s chosen local charity, ÁrasFolláin.
Áras Folláin promotes wellness and recovery for people who have experienced mental health difficulties or are at risk of mental ill health through social isolation, family circumstances, relationships, financial circumstances, disability or unemployment. It is a community based centre located in Tyone, Nenagh, led by people who use the mental health services within a recovery model with support from professionals on an as needed basis. The centre is run by a Steering Committee made up of representatives from all of the groups, the community and a representative from Mental Health Ireland.
If you would like to showcase a Christmas tree this year large or small please contact email@example.com and we can allocate you a slot. Display benches will be set up in the church, with plenty of power sockets for lights if needed. Decorated trees should be set up and in position during and by the end of Thursday 10th December. Businesses, clubs, charities and organisations of any and every description can, and definitely should, take this opportunity to promote themselves to potentially a whole new set of customers! The trees can be real or fake, traditional or “out there”, anything goes - up to a maximum height of five feet. The more variety the better to entertain the visitors and remember - there is absolutely no charge for all that publicity!
From the visitor point of view – just turn up and enjoy!
Admission will be €3 per person, with children (accompanied by an adult) free. Refreshments will be available for sale along with a tempting selection of home-made jams, chutneys and crafts. It doesn’t stop with the trees it will also be made extra-enjoyable by the various musical and worship events that are planned to take place during the Festival and don’t miss the Christmas Carol Service finale on Sunday 20th December.
The official opening of the St. Mary’s Nenagh Christmas Tree Festival will take place on Sunday 13th and the Festival will run until Sunday 20th December.
