The Boruma Trio in Concert at Dún Mhuire

The Boruma Trio

Tá an-aithne ag muintir Thiobraid Árann ar Eileen O’Brien (amhráin agus fidil) iníon leis an mboscadóir, cumadóir, agus múinteoir Paddy O’Brien as Baile Nua. Is féidir a ra go bhfuil an-chuid dá saol caite ag Eibhlín ag buanú traidisiún ceol Thiobraid Árann Thuaidh.

As an Tulach, Co. an Chláir a thagann an boscadóir Andrew MacNamara. Tá an-bhaint ag a chlann leis an gceol traidisiúnta. Sheinn a athair Andy, a uncail Breandán agus Tony MacMahon boscaí ceoil agus seinneann a dheirfiúr Mary an Consairtín. Cláiríneach eile is ea Dr Geraldine Cotter (feadóg stain agus pianó),

eithneacheoltóir, a bhfuil a lán leabhar teagaisc foilsithe aici ar an fheadóg stáin agus an piano.

Mar is eol dúinn tá Béal Boróimhe suite gar do Chill Dá Lua / Bhéal an Átha. B’shin an nasc a spreag na ceoltóirí The Boruma Trio a thabhairt orthu féin agus cinnte tá an dá stíl nasctha le chéile sa cheol ar shlí iontach tarraingteach. Beidh sár-oíche cheolmhar i nDún Mhuire ar an Déardaoin, 12 Feabhra, ar 8.00 pm le The Boruma Trio.

The Boruma Trio will perform at Dún Mhuire on Thursday, 12 February, at 8.00 pm. Well known North Tipperary musician and composer Eileen O’Brien (Fiddle & Vocals) from Newtown, Nenagh continues the family tradition of creativity.

Eileen is accompanied by Andrew MacNamara from Tulla, Co. Clare, one of Ireland’s leading exponents of accordeon playing and Dr. Geraldine Cotter musician, researcher and teacher (Piano & tin whistle) from Ennis. “The Boruma Trio” derives its name from Brian Boru who was born at Béal Borumna near Killaloe. The musical traditions of both sides of the River Shannon are celebrated and unified by “The Boruma Trio.”

Refreshments will be served on the night.
