Heritage Week is a nationwide programme of events that celebrates our natural, built and cultural heritage. This years theme is “Discover the Past. Build the Future”. Heritage Week is co-ordinated by the Heritage Council inconjunction with the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and is part of European Heritage Days which is celebrated in 40 countries in Europe. It takes place from 17th - 25th August 2013.
There are a huge variety of fun, entertaining and informative events taking place throughout the County, from platform Céiles, historical and nature walks, medieval re-enactments, musical events, to archaeological digs .... so there is something for everyone to enjoy for visitors and for local communities and most events are FREE! and family friendly.
Communities and organisations across North Tipperary have come together to showcase the heritage resources on our doorsteps. North Tipperary County Council and North Tipperary Heritage Forum extend a special thanks to all organisers of all the events, without their works and dedication Heritage Week would not be possible.
