“Walk in Her Shoes” appeal for shoes

Nenagh Arts Centre help Rape Crisis Midwest with their own creative style

Rape Crisis Midwest are appealing to the public for large size high heels for their upcoming event 'Walk in Her Shoes'. The idea of the event is for men to wear womens high heels and walk an honorary mile. Nenagh Arts Centre have generously agreed to be the drop-off point where people can leave the shoes. There is a box situated inside for people to do so when they please. We would be very grateful for any help with this as large high heels are not in great demand so we will need any we can get our hands on.

In connection with the shoe appeal the Arts Centre have offered to incorporate this into a window display. This also co-ordinates with the shoe competition which will be held on the day of the event - there will be a prize on the day for the most creative shoe. We are very excited to see what the artists at the centre come up with and we are sure it will be fantastic. It is a great way of raising awareness and publicising our event in such a unique and creative way so a huge thank you to all involved.

'Walk in Her Shoes' is now an annual event which will be held across the three counties Saturday April 11th at 2pm. The Hibernian Inn which is centrally located in Nenagh town have been kind enough to give the premises for the day.
