On the advice of the OPW, Tipperary County Council is closing Nenagh Castle due to severe problems with water ingress.
Substantial quantities of water are seeping through the Castle stonework making the stairs and steps unsafe for the public. The OPW are investigating the source of the water ingress and, once identified, will carry out the necessary remedial works as soon as possible.
Tipperary County Council wishes to apologise for the inconvenience and working with the OPW will reopen the Castle as soon as it is safe to do so. The Castle Field will of course, remain open.
