Nenagh Éire Óg - Club Notes 30/08/2015

Nenagh Éire Óg Weekly Notes

Best Wishes: Everyone associated with the Blues would like to wish Shane Hennessy and the Tipperary minor hurling team all the very best against Galway in the Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship final which takes place at Croke Park, Dublin on Sunday, September 6th.

Senior: Liam Heffernan’s Blues will return to championship action in the last sixteen of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship during the coming weeks. Éire Óg have been drawn to face Roscrea in the next round. Please keep an eye on the club website and respective social media channels for updates on this fixture.

Minor A: The Blues lost an entertaining minor A quarter-final at a windy Puckane on Wednesday evening. The Éire Óg lads gave it everything, but in the end were defeated by an impressive Kilruane team (1-13 to 3-9). Nenagh Éire Óg would like to wish Kilruane MacDonagh’s all the very best of luck for the remainder of the competition. Nenagh Éire Óg minor A manager John Manley was joined on the management team this year by selectors Derek Lillis, Christy McLoughlin and Paudie Gleeson. The club would like to thank the management team and the players for representing the town of Nenagh, the club, their families and most importantly themselves in such a proud manner this season. Well done lads. For a full match report on Wednesday's game please see the club website.

Sympathy: Everyone associated with the Nenagh Éire Óg club would like to offer their sympathy to the Hynes family following the passing of Oisín Hynes. Oisín was deeply regretted by his parents Frances and Eddie, loving sister Aisling and brother Ciarán, grandparents Bea and Mick Hynes and Paddy and Breda Kennedy, great-grandfather Jack Kennedy, aunts and uncles, cousins, relatives and his many, many friends.

Lotto: Last week’s lotto jackpot of €3,200 was not won. €50 luck dip winners: Mary Flannery (Richmond), Johnny Keogh (Benedine), Niall Madden (Rockford), Seán White (c/o Andy’s) & Emma Hogan (Ballymackey). Next draw on Monday, August 31st for €3,300 - please support the Blues and play our club lotto.
