Organisation overview and background to Tipperary PPN Tipperary Public Participation Network (PPN) was established in June 2014, as part of the implementation of the Reform of Local Government Act. It is now administered by a 15-member Secretariat drawn from the five Municipal Districts in the county and their environmental, social inclusion, community and voluntary groups. Membership of Tipperary PPN now stands at 1,400 plus Groups. Tipperary PPN is represented on 17 boards and committees by 46 representatives, who are mandated to bring forward the views of the community Key duties The key duty of the PPN Admin / Support Worker is to support the PPN Co-ordinator in their functions in developing the PPN as an effective structure to promote public engagement and participation via the environmental, social inclusion and community and voluntary sectors in accordance with relevant Department of Rural and Community Development circulars and PPN User Guidelines / handbook. The overall purpose of the job is: To support the work of the Co-ordinator to continue to develop the PPN in Tipperary to enhance participation in decision making, information sharing and capacity building in environmental, social inclusion and community and voluntary organisations in accordance with the relevant guidelines. The support worker will be a highly motivated person, with a strong sense of commitment to the ideas and values inherent in the work of PPN. Knowledge and experience in community development would be advantageous.
