XL CHALLENGE 2013 SUPPORTING LIVING LINKS

SATURDAY 6TH APRIL 2013
Silvermines Co. Tipperary. - The Challenge will consist of a choice of two hikes. The longer hike, for the fitter experienced hill walker, will take approximately 5 hours. The shorter hike, suitable for anyone with reasonable fitness, will take 3 hours approximately.
HIKE A - Bus from Silvermines Village to Ballyhourigan Woods, then climb Keeper Hill, the highest point in North Tipperary. Descent Keeper to the remote valley of Glenculoo, then up across the Silvermine mountains before descending to finish at the Silvermines village.
HIKE B - This will start and finish at the Silvermines village. It will include a hike through the old mining area before climbing to the highest point on the Silvermine mountains. There are fine views over the surrounding countryside.
