What is cocooning?

What is cocooning?

Cocooning is a special advice to give to someone, who’s most at risk with a serious illness to catch coronavirus. It is for personal protection, especially for people who are extremely medically vulnerable during the Covid-19 pandemic 2020.

During cocooning, you should stay at home at all times and avoid face-to-face contact with people. Even at home, you should minimise all non-essential contact with other family members within your household.

Please ask your family, carers or neighbours for help and support that you need. If you know someone who needs to cocoon, please share this information with them. Please ensure that they truly understand how important it is to follow cocooning and all Covid-19 health as well as safety measures.
