Trees on the Land is a cross-border initiative working to establish young native trees across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
This annual tree planting event where landowners across the 32 counties turn out to plant their trees on a selected Saturday in February. The next planting day is Saturday 15th February 2020.
Trees on the land provide simple schemes for landowners to access quality native tree mixes each season. Working with farmers, smallholders, community groups, councils, schools, colleges and many other landowners to coordinate sites to accommodate trees. The vision is to establish tree and woodland cover in rural and urban areas;create resources, beneficial ecosystem services and a lasting legacy for future generations. Trees on the land have planted more than a million trees at several thousand sites in Ireland and Northern Ireland since 2013.
This year there are two locations in Tipperary for trees collection:
The hope is to add more locations for sorting and collection in 2020. Native Irish, bare root trees are available for a reasonable price.

Please Note :Trees are not free they are for sale but they are a good price and last year's plantings were successful.
Applications for trees will close on Wednesday 20th November 2019 at Midnight. Applications are accepted on a first come first served basis so please apply promptly to avoid disappointment.
