Tipperary GAA Scene – April 26th 2023

2023 Munster Senior Football Championship.

Our footballers travelled to Fitzgearld stadium Killarney last Saturday for their Munster football semi final clash with All Ireland Champions Kerry. In what was a game that was always going to be a very tough assignment for the side, Kerry proved to be much too strong for David Power’s charges and they ran out 0-25 to 0-05 winners in the end. Tipperary must now regroup and prepare for the Tailteann Cup competition which will start in a few week’s time.

2023 Munster Senior Hurling Championship

Cusack Park in Ennis was the destination for our senior hurlers last Sunday afternoon where they took on Clare in Round 1 of the Munster senior hurling championship. Playing in front of a crowd of almost 18,000 spectators, the players went about their business in very determined fashion as they overcame the Clare challenge on a final score of 5-22 to 3-23 and secured two very important away points. Next up for the senior hurlers is another away tie against Cork in Pairc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday May 9th at 7pm.

Munster Under 20 Hurling Championship Round 4

Our under 20 hurlers played Limerick last Friday evening in FBD Semple Stadium, in what was a must win game for the team. This was a really good performance from all involved as they secured a vital win which keeps Tipperary’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages very much alive. Tipperary now take on Waterford this Friday evening in FBD Semple Stadium at 7.30pm in the knowledge that a win will see them through to the semi final.
