SENIOR FOOTBALL COUNTY FINAL

In the top billing fixture played last weekend, congratulations go to Clonmel Commercials on winning their 17th county senior title as they defeated a spirited Killenaule side to take the honours in the Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship Final 2-9 to 0-8 before an attendance of 2,451 in Semple Stadium.

Goals from Richie Gunne and Jamie Peters in the latter stages of the match put a gloss on the Commercials victory which with eleven minutes or so remaining looked in the balance as both sides were evenly matched in this close contest. Hold out Commercials did as they created the goal chances to lift the title and go forward to the AIB Munster Senior Club Championship where they will play Dr. Crokes (Kerry) in the quarter-final on week ending October 29th at a Tipperary venue.

Congratulations to Michael Quinlivan (Clonmel Commercials) on receiving the Man of the Match Award following his display in the final, scoring 0-4 from play.

Congratulations also to referee Derek O'Mahoney (Ardfinnan) and his officials on their officiating of the senior football county final.

MINOR FOOTBALL COUNTY FINAL

The Tipperary Water County Minor 'A' Football Champions for 2017 are Moyle Rovers and congratulations to them on their victory over defending champions Galtee/Golden in the curtain raiser last Sunday in Thurles, on a score-line of 2-13 to 0-6, with their goals coming from Rian Quigley (penalty) and Sean Cotter.

This was Moyle Rovers first title since 2008 and proud captain Cillian Crowe was only too delighted to update the clubs record when receiving the Barrett Cup from Mick Byrnes, Vice-Chairman Tipperary Football Committee.

Congratulations also to Jack Harney (Moyle Rovers) on being selected Man of the Match.

Well done also to referee Johnny Butler (Upperchurch-Drombane) and his officials on the running of the final.

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL COUNTY FINAL

Congratulations to Kiladangan who join the senior football ranks next year following their victory in the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Football Championship Final last Sunday with a four point win over Clonmel Óg 1-11 to 1-7.

Kiladangan will now play St. Senans (Limerick) in the AIB Munster Intermediate Club Football Championship Quarter-Final on week ending October 29th at a Tipperary venue.
