COUNTY & DIVISIONAL FIXTURES
The main interest at club level this weekend will centre on the Tipperary Water County Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Finals where there are two very attractive double headers in Semple Stadium on Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening.
First up this Saturday, September 16th at 2pm Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill meet Mullinahone while at 3.30pm Thurles Sarsfields clash with Kilruane MacDonaghs. On Sunday then, September 17th, Clonoulty-Rossmore play Drom and Inch at 6pm while at 7.30pm Loughmore-Castleiney lock horns with Borris-Ileigh, with Borris having come through to the quarter-final proper following their preliminary quarter-final win over Carrick Swan on a score line of 3-16 to 2-5 last weekend. Extra time will be played in all games if required.
Previous senior hurling quarter final meetings between this year's pairings are in short supply with those that have taken place reading as follows; 1985 Kilruane MacDonaghs 2-10 Thurles Sarsfields 2-3; 2007 Drom & Inch 0-15 Clonoulty-Rossmore 0-13 and in 2012 Drom & Inch 2-22 Clonoulty Rossmore 0-13. In 2007 Loughmore-Castleiney 3-13 Borris-Ileigh 1-13 while there has been no previous encounter between Mullinahone v Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill at quarter-final stage.
The Tipperary Water County senior hurling semi-finals are then scheduled for Sunday, September 24th depending on results.
The senior hurling relegation commenced with round 1 last weekend where Kiladangan had a1-20 to 1-10 win over Ballina Three teams will contest the relegation in a league format with the bottom two teams relegated to the Seamus Ó Riain Cup. Round 2 takes place this Saturday with Ballina meeting Burgess in Nenagh at 2pm. Round 3 then will be between Burgess and Kiladangan scheduled for Sunday, September 24th.
The Tipperary Water Seamus Ó Riain Cup Quarter-Finals also went ahead last Sunday, September 10th, where Toomevara saw off the challenge of Silvermines 0-22 to 1-06. Roscrea also had the measure of fellow north side Templederry Kenyons winning 4-19 to 2-19. JK Brackens with minor star Lyndon Fairbrother in superb form had 3 points to spare over Lorrha-Dorrha as they progressed 2-19 to 2-16 and Holycross-Ballycahill won by four seeing off Clonakenny 2-18 to 2-14.
In the draws made for the Seamus Ó Riain Cup semi-finals which are to take place on the weekend of September 24th, Roscrea meet Holycross-Ballycahill and Toomevara play JK Brackens.
Elsewhere, in the Seamus Ó Riain the first games in the relegation round robin took place on Sunday with Moycarkey-Borris defeating Borrisokane 4-16 to 2-14and Ballingarry defeating Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams 4-16 to 0-14. Round 2 sees Borrisokane take on Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams this Saturday, September 16th, in Borrisoleigh with a 4pm throw in, while on Sunday September 17th, Ballingarry play Moycarkey-Borris in Leahy Park, Cashel at 1.30pm. Round 3 will take place on the weekend of October 1st.
In the Tipperary Water Intermediate Hurling Championship there is one preliminary quarter final still outstanding this Wednesday night September 13th where Moyle Rovers play St Marys in Dr. Morris Park at 7:30pm. In the other preliminary quarter finals played last weekend Ballinahinch defeated Cashel King Cormac’s 0-26 to 2-14; Kilsheelan-Kilcash had a point to spare over Carrick Davins 1-14 to 1-13being the result here; Moyne-Templetuohy likewise had a point to spare over Thurles Sarsfields edging it 0-20 to 0-19; Moneygall had too much for Kiladangan.in a 4-16 to 0-12 win while Gortnahoe-Glengoole had a goal to spare in a 1-10 to 0-10 victory over Drom & Inch.
Those results leave the Tipperary Water Intermediate Hurling Quarter Finals looking like this heading into next weekend - on Saturday, September 16th Sean Treacys and Cappawhite meet in Golden at 4pm with the remaining three games on Sunday, September 17th at 1pm where Moyne-Templetuohy meet Moneygall in Templemore, Gortnahoe-Glengoole and Ballinahinch meet in Drombane and Moyle Rovers/St Marys v Kilsheelan-Kilcash in Monroe if St. Mary's win Prelim Q/F or in Clonmel if Moyle Rovers win.
The Tipperary Water County intermediate hurling semi-finals are scheduled for weekend of September 24th.
The Tipperary Water County Intermediate Hurling Relegation first round tie between Boherlahan-Dualla and Galtee Rovers-St. Pecaun ended in a draw 1-13 to 0-16. The two remaining fixtures are as follows; round 2 Galtee Rovers-St. Pecaun v Lattin Cullen Gaels takes place on Saturday next September 16th in Golden at 2.30pm and round 3 will be between Lattin Cullen Gaels v Boherlahan-Dualla.
Also this Saturday two Tipperary Water County Junior 'A' Quarter-Finals take place with Holycross-Ballycahill playing Ballybacon-Grange in New Inn at 4.30pm while at the same time in Cahir, Skeheenarinky meet Moycarkey-Borris. The remainder of the junior hurling quarter-finals will take place on the weekend of September 23rd next.
There is one final down for decision on Saturday evening next September 16th, at 5.30pm in Newport where host club Newport meet their neighbours Silvermines in the Tipperary Water County Hurling League Division 3 final.
Next Tuesday, September 19th in the Tipperary Water County Minor 'A' Football Championship JK Brackens meet Moyle Rovers in the first semi-final in Littleton at 7.30pm. The other semi-final is down for decision on weekend of September 23rd.
Then on Wednesday, September 20th next in the Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship preliminary quarter-final, Arravale Rovers take on Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill in Clonoulty at 8pm.
With the exception of the relegation matches, extra time will be played in all other games listed above if required.
The Tipperary Water Minor Hurling Championship Semi-Finals will take place on the weekend of September 30th.
The Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship Quarter-Finals will take place on weekend of September 23rd with the draw reading as follows - Killenaule v Aherlow Gaels; Loughmore-Castleiney v Kilsheelan-Kilcash; Clonmel Commercials v winners of preliminary Q/F (Arravale Rovers/Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill) and Moyle Rovers v Ballyporeen. Times and venues will be set by the CCCC
The draw was also made for the Tipperary Water County Senior Football Relegation which will take place on the weekend of September 23rd as well, with Round 1 where Drom & Inch meet Cahir and Fethard play Ardfinnan. In Round 2 its Ardfinnan v Drom & Inch and Cahir v Fethard and finally Round 3- Cahir meet Ardfinnan and Fethard play Drom & Inch.
Congratulations to teams that won senior divisional championships and county league titles over the weekend. In n the West Division, the Tipperary Co-Op Super Valu Senior Hurling Final was claimed by Clonoulty-Rossmore who defeated Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill 1-14 to 1-9 after a tight game with Clonoulty edging it in the closing stages.
In the Gleeson Quarries Mid Senior Football Final Loughmore-Castleiney retained their title following a 0-17 to 0-6 victory over Upperchurch-Drombane with Liam McGrath (Loughmore-Castleiney) receiving the man of the match award.
In the Tipperary Water County Football League Division 3 Final, Mullinahone took the honours following their 1-13 to 1-9 win over Ballylooby-Castlegrace.

2017 DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
A final reminder to all interested clubs that the closing date for applications for the 2017 Development Grants is this Friday, September 15th, as outlined previously.
Applications should be forwarded to the County Development Officer, PJ Maher (087-2489064 and pjmaher@campionins.com).
Kieran Leddy of Munster Council outlined the procedures at the July meeting and guidelines on development grant procedures and application forms are available on the Munster Council website http://munster.gaa.ie/clubs/munstergaa-development-grants/
TIPPERARY GAA MEMBERS DRAW
Congratulations to the two main winners and indeed all the winners in the September Draw held last Friday night in Noonan's Bar, Ballingarry. First prize of a Renault Megane or €15,000 promoted by Nenagh Éire Óg club went to John Starr and second prize of a Cheltenham for 4 or €5000 went to Paudie Flanagan, Gaile, Thurles with Moycarkey-Borris the promoting club.

Tipperary GAA has launched a loyalty CashBack Card which as a Tipperary supporter each individual that registers is doing their small bit in support of the county cause. Loyalty cards were sent out with club draw receipts to all members and as there is no charge in registering you can opt in immediately.
