COUNTY CLUB FIXTURES

The action is moving up the gears significantly now as the various championships power towards their concluding stages. A fine crowd of 5,346 was in Semple Stadium on Sunday last to witness the semi-finals of the Tipperary Water County Senior Hurling Championship where Clonoulty-Rossmore and Nenagh Éire Óg came through to meet each other on Sunday, October 21st in the final on the Field of Legends. Clonoulty-Rossmore were always in command as they held the Toomevara challenge at bay while Nenagh Éire Óg needed every score to hold off a Thurles Sarsfields side that always fight right to the final whistle.

The Tipperary Water Seamus Ó Riain Cup Semi-Finals served up two cracking games on Saturday with Moycarkey-Borris and Burgess both making it through to the final but more importantly for both clubs, the semi-final success sees them promoted to Roinn 1 status for 2019.

Moycarkey-Borris ended JK Brackens hopes with a 3 point win at The Ragg, which incidentally was also the margin in Burgess' win over Templederry Kenyons in Dolla.

On the hurling front the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Hurling Championship Final is the main event this weekend as Cashel King Cormac's and Thurles Sarsfields get set for the final showdown which throws in at Holycross on Sunday next, October 14th.

The Tipperary Water County Minor Hurling 'A' and 'B' Championships go ahead in Leahy Park, Cashel this Saturday October 13th. First up Drom & Inch will meet Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams at 2pm in the 'B' final followed by Cappawhite Gaels and Moycarkey-Borris in the 'A' final at 3:30pm.

The main action in football will be concentrated on the two Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship Semi-Finals which are down for decision also on Sunday. Ardfinnan are up against Loughmore-Castleiney in Holycross (part of a double header with the intermediate hurling final) with Clonmel Commercials taking on Moyle Rovers in Cahir.

Ahead of these games on Saturday the Tipperary Water Intermediate Football Semi-Final between Grangemockler Ballyneale and Moyne-Templetuohy will throw in at New Inn.

POST PRIMARY ACTION

Two of the Dean Ryan Cup (Under 16.5 A Hurling) 2018/2019 Quarter-Finals have been played with both Tipperary teams in action emerging victorious to reach the semi-finals. Thurles CBS were first to make it through as they recorded a 4-16 to 1-15 win over Midleton CBS last Tuesday. The following day Nenagh CBS joined them in the last four as they eventually saw off Hamilton High School 2-15 to 1-8 in a game which was closer than the score line suggests, with Nenagh pulling away in the last quarter to claim the win.

Those results mean Thurles CBS and Nenagh CBS will meet in the first semi-final which goes ahead this Wednesday, October 10th in Templederry with a 1:30pm throw in.

The second set of quarter finals go ahead this Tuesday, October 9th, with Our Lady’s Templemore meeting Scoil Na Trioniode Doon in Drombane at 1pm and De La Salle Waterford v St. Flannan's in Boherlahan at 1:30pm.
