North Tipp Hospice Sunflower Days

Local branches of the North Tipperary Hospice Movement will be raising funds during the national Sunflower Days which takes place from Thursday 5th June to Saturday 7th June. Sunflower Days is an annual event which is held in conjunction with the Irish Hospice Foundation and goes to raise vital funds for local hospice organizations nationwide.

Nenagh will hold their collection on Friday 6th June. Sunflowers - the global emblem of Hospice will be sold by Volunteers and all proceeds raised in this area will go towards hospice support and care in North Tipperary. People will be able to support their local hospice service by purchasing various pieces of Sunflower merchandise.

Nenagh Ormond RFC Summer Skills Sessions

Summer Skills Sessions for Under 14s & Under 15s with Nenagh Ormond YDO Pat Fitzpatrick begin this Friday, June 6th, at 7pm. These sessions aim to develop the skills of our young players throughout the summer months and are very enjoyable and beneficial. All players in these age groups are welcome to attend.

Nenagh Éire Óg face Lorrha-Dorrha in a North Tipperary Junior B Hurling League Semi-Final in Borrisokane at 7.15pm on Friday, June 6th.

Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project

The Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project team will host the second Well Being & Mental Health Seminar on Friday, June 6th at 8pm in the Abbey Court Hotel. Admission is free. The main speaker on the night is Tony Butler (SMA Missionary). Fr Tony will tell us how he has found a way through his depression and give hope to others.

This event is open to all and represents an opportunity for club members and the wider community to become informed on the many issues surrounding depression and mental health. In addition there will be feedback from the team’s first event and the plan for the future.

Ormond Historical Society Trip to Dublin

The Ormond Historical Society will travel to Dublin on Saturday June 7th departing Banba Square at 7.45am with pickup in Moneygall at 8.05am. Cost of the trip is €35 per person. Cost includes hot lunch + tea/coffee and admission charges. Travel is by air conditioned coach & toilet facilities are available aboard. Bookings are on a first come basis and must be accompanied by €35.

Life Drawing Day at Nenagh Arts Centre

Nenagh Arts Centre is presenting a life drawing afternoon at the Arts Centre on Saturday 7th of June.

The afternoon is suitable for adults and young people developing their skills in drawing and painting the human figure and may be especially suitable for those creating a portfolio for Art College or interested as a hobby. Life drawing is one of the classical skills in developing artistic ability and artists have always worked from the human figure as a basis and focus for their work. Tutor Sean Molony will guide those attending in the specific skills and techniques in drawing from a live model. Patrons are advised to bring along their own materials - paper or canvas and easel, paints, pencils or charcoals as required.

Starting at 2.30 p.m. and running until 5.30, the event is a rare opportunity to work from real life. Admission is €30 for the day. Booking from the Arts Centre on 067 34400.
