Local Elections 2014

The local and European elections take place on Friday May 23rd. Polling Stations are open between 7.00am and 10.00pm.

Nenagh Country Market

For a real taste of home baking visit Nenagh Country Market which takes place in the New Institute, Friar Street each Friday morning from 8.00am to 1.30pm. Locally produced goods include tarts, cakes, buns, fruit cakes, cheese cakes, lasagnes, quiches, breads, jams & chutneys, free range eggs, chickens and ducks. A wide range of locally grown potatoes and vegetables are also available.

Breathing Behaviour Analysis Machine

Peter Walsh has invited Lough Derg Sub Aqua Club members and members of the public to have a go on the Breathing Behaviour Analysis machine which he will have in Bank of Ireland Nenagh on Friday 23rd May. Peter is a past member of the club and is an avid free diver. If anyone knows about good breathing technique, it’s Peter. Well worth it if you’re in the area.

Bealtaine Festival at Nenagh Library - Film Fridays

Film fans, each Friday during May at 2pm Nenagh Library will screen one of the classics of the golden era in film. An opportunity to revisit some of your favourite films of yesteryear.

The 2014 An Post Rás continues until Sunday 25th May where it will end in Skerries, Dublin. Two local teams Visit Nenagh.ie and Nenagh CC are taking part.

Cloughjordan Cineclub Presents Quartet

Tour of Lough Derg in support of the North Tipperary Hospice

The North Tipperary Wheelers present the 2014 Tour of Lough Derg in support of the North Tipperary Hospice Movement on Sunday 25th May. Sign on from 8.30am.

The Annual Tour of Lough Derg will follow the fantastic route around Lough Derg in what will be an incredible day of cycling taking in Counties, Tipperary, Clare and Galway.  The route will depart from the Lakeside Hotel in Ballina(/killaloe) at the southern end of Lough Derg on the River Shannon and will cross the River again in Portumna at the most northern extremity of the Lough. This is a truly great sportive with something for every one. There is amazing scenery of Lough Derg, a great foodstop in Portumna forest park and a choice of two controlled paces to cater for all abilities.  The departure town of Balllina/Killaoe is easily accessible from Dublin, Cork, Galway and the midlands.

Nenagh Walking Club - Lake Muskerry in the Galtees

Nenagh Walking Club’s next Sunday Hike will take place on Sunday 25th May to Lake Muskerry in the Galtees – there are spectacular views on this walk. Both A & C Walk Grades will be catered for – please contact Aidan Dillon on 087 9836750 for full details of either of these walks.

The Newport Color Run

The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality. All Ages are permitted; bringing a community together. Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants, or “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. 

With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow: Wear white at the starting line, Finish plastered in colour! Registration is only  €10- online at eventbrite.ie Or €15 on the day. All proceeds go towards Pieta House.
