Strictly Cash Live at the Nenagh Arts Centre

‘Strictly Cash’ are more than just a band, they are long- time fans of the legendary Johnny Cash. Singer Barry, who has met and chatted with both Johnny and June, can remember singing along to “40 Shades of Green” every time it came on the radio, back then in the early 60s, and buying his first Johnny Cash record in 1971.

‘Strictly Cash’s sound is as authentic as you’ll get, created by the boom-chicka-boom of the big upright bass, the steady clickety-clack of the drums, stunning lead guitar mixed with acoustic guitar and vocals. Barry brought the show to Mountjoy Prison in 2008, for which he wrote the song “Mountjoy” as a tribute to Cash’s prison songs, and a year later, recreated his famous show at San Quentin, in Cork’s Crane Lane Theatre.

He is a regular guest at German Johnny Cash Day. A must-see for all fans of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash. Date: Saturday 10th May Time: 9pm (doors 8:30pm) Admission: €10
