Nenagh Éire Óg Civil Reception

On Friday April 25th Nenagh Town Council will afford the following Nenagh Éire Óg teams a civic receptions to mark their 2013 achievements – Junior B & Minor A County Camogie champions (6.30pm), Minor A hurling county champions (7pm), Scór team (7.15pm) and Nenagh Handball Club (7.30pm). All players, mentors and supporters are invited to attend.

Nenagh Éire Óg Camogie Club Fundraiser

A clothing recycling drive in aid of Nenagh Éire Óg Camogie Club will take place on Saturday, April 26th - please off all items between 10am and 12 noon. Please donate all of your clean and unwanted clothes also bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys. Wearable clothes will be recycled and re-used and other items will be recycled for items, such as, industrial wipes or soundproofing. Laptops (must be intact with lead) and mobile phones will also be accepted, but please keep these items separate. Books will be accepted, but no school books, magazines or diaries. No household bric a brac.

If you cannot make it to the club house on the day please contact any committee members before April 26th to make arrangement for the collection of items.

Tractor Challenge in aid of Thurles Order of Malta

Order of Malta Thurles want to smash the Guinness World Record, currently of 1,231 set in Canada to get 5,000 tractors to Thurles Racecourse on April 27th and hope that that the farming community and all the local vintage tractor clubs nationwide will come out to support us. It promises to be a fantastic family day out with bouncy castles, face-painting, traditional butter-making demonstrations and will raise vital funds for the Order of Malta Ambulance Corps Thurles Training Centre. King Brian Ború Crowning Re-Enactment in Cashel

To commemorate the millennium of the High King of Cashel the To Crown A King Pageant will take place in Cashel at 2pm on Sunday, April 27th. The free family event will re-enact the crowning of Brian Ború the High King of Munster at the very spot where he rose to power. A procession will start at Buckley’s Car Park next to the Cashel Palace Hotel at 2pm and the event will take approximately 2 hours. Funding has been provided to local schools in the Cashel and surrounding areas for construction of some amazing artistic creations for the pageant and hundreds of local children will be involved in the event. This will ensure a colourful, vibrant and youthful portrayal of such an important part of our history.
