This week sees the 50th Anniversary of the Watch Centre in Nenagh. The Watch Centre opened for business in Nenagh on November 6th 1964. Watch brands back them included Rodania, Certina and Aroxana. These were automatic and wind up watches. As time moved on Quartz and Digital brands like Glycine and Casio became available. The most common brands in recent times are Citizen and Seiko with the latest being Eco Drive, Solar and Kinetic.

Gold was very expensive back then so a lot of Jewellery was sold in Rolled Gold and Silver. Charm bracelets were big up until the late 1980's. They re-emerged in 2010. You saw major changes down the years. Gold was very much on trend from 1990's right up till 2008 when it began to rise steeply. Silver has become the major player again and Rolled Gold is back in a small way. Presently Rose gold is on trend in all aspects of Jewellery and watches.

Aynsley china was a very popular brand up until 1990’s. Belleek would be one of the most popular china's now, crystal wise. You still can't beat Waterford Crystal. Not a lot has changed stock wise. The Watch Centre carries more or less the same range since starting out. Brands have changed and there is a lot more choice so stocks carried are now bigger.
