A simple method for saving money on your energy bills is to replace old, inefficient lighting. Halogen spots produce a lot of excess heat which is essential wasted energy. Newer LED bulbs can be easily fitted, replacing the old higher wattage bulbs and consuming only a fraction of the energy.
These modern LED bulbs produce excellent light (high lumen output at miniscule energy consumption) - for example, a 3W bright white LED spot bulb can produce the same light as a 60W tungsten bulb. That’s the same light for 1/20th of the Wattage.
Although some low energy bulbs may cost more than their less efficient counterparts (Tungsten etc) the saving is quickly recouped in savings on the electricity bill. The lifetime of the Low Energy bulbs can be dramatically longer thus replacing them becomes less frequent adding a further saving.
