The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna, Austria on Saturday, May 23rd and five acts are in contention to represent Ireland on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the show.
Local Puckane musician Molly Sterling has been announced as one of the contestants and at 16 years of age is two years younger than Dana when she triumphed for Ireland in 1970.
Molly’s song “Playing With Numbers”, which she co-wrote with Greg French, is about the risks people take every day in love and life, and the experiences of taking the road less travelled.
The other acts taking part include Alex Saint and the Mjs, Kat Mahon, Erika Selin and Nikki Kavanagh. The acts will perform their songs live at Eurosong on The Late Late Show on Friday 27th February and the winner will then represent Ireland in the second semi final on May 21st ahead of the final on May 23rd.
