Omniplex Cinemas Announce Acquisition of Ormond Cineplex, Nenagh. The Future of Cinema In Nenagh Is Secure
Friday 24th January 2020: Today, Omniplex Cinemas have announced the acquisition of the 4 screen Ormond Cineplex in Nenagh, Tipperary with a smooth transition of ownership taking place on the 31st of January 2020. The move will secure the future of both the cinema and employment. Mark Anderson, Director of Omniplex Cinemas, said; “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Ormond Cineplex in Nenagh. We believe that cinema is an important fabric to town communities, and we look forward to sharing our plans for the cinema very soon”.
Helen Gleeson from Ormond Cineplex said; “My father, Edward Gleeson opened the Ormond Twin Cinema’s in the ‘80’s continuing his dedication and passion for film which began in the 1930’s with Cinema’s in Cappamore and Kilmallock Co. Limerick. Edward is a great believer in opening the possibilities of life thru the magic of film and while sad to finish, is happy to know that the future of the Cineplex is assured in the hands of the Omniplex Group. I would like to thank our “Cineplex Family” of Billy, John, Angela, Patrick & Keelan (& Greg) who helped us run the Cineplex and the people of Nenagh and the surrounding areas for their support. I wish the Omniplex Group well in Nenagh and know that the support we received from the people of Nenagh and the surrounding areas will continue.”
Omniplex will honor valid Ormond Cineplex vouchers up to 31st March 2020.
