New Dog By-law Comes Into Effect

A new by-law has been passed by Nenagh Town Council in relation to the issue of dog fouling in the town.

Under the new by-law, anyone who walks their dog in a public area must have their dog on a lead and must also carry a bag to dispose of any dog fouling. If this law is not adhered to it will mean an automatic on the spot fine of €20 which must be paid within seven days or €100 if paid within 21 days. Failure to comply with this will result in prosecution and court proceedings.

This law comes into effect on Saturday, March 1st and will be enforced by the local Gardai and the Council's litter wardens and dog wardens.
