Network North Tipperary Business Women of the Year Awards

The countdown for the Network North Tipperary Business Women of the Year Awards has begun, with the winner of one of the three categories just announced. The awards night for the event takes place on Friday, June 13th at the Cloughjordan House & Cookery school when the two other category winners will be announced.

The Emerging and Existing Business award winners will be announced at the gala event but the Network is delighted to announce that Nenagh woman and Tipp FM Key Account Manager Caroline Kinane will pick the AIB sponsored Employee Category award on the night.

Caroline, a former advertising repre-sentative with the Nenagh Guardian, was chosen as the category winner by the awards judging panel, represent-ing the main sponsors, of Margaret McLoughney, Business Relationship Manager for AIB Nenagh, Eleanor Forrest from the Local Enterprise Office and Shannon Airport Secretary Mary Considine following an interview process with shortlisted candidates conducted last week at the Civic Offices in Nenagh. Announcing Caroline as the winner, Ms McLoughney said: “We were extremely impressed with the list of entries and, indeed, the shortlisted candidates that we met and interviewed.

Caroline is a deserving winner as she has shown remarkable dedication to her employer and was a stand-out entry for the category. “She is an excellent example that gender does not matter in the work place but what’s most is how you apply yourself to your post. Tipp FM is an excellent company and connects the people of Tipperary on a daily basis brilliantly. It has also shown its commitment to North Tipperary by opening an office in Nenagh last November.

“We congratulate Caroline on her success and wish her well in what will no doubt be a successful career going forward.” Caroline will now go on to represent Network North Tipperary in the national finals, which take place in Kilashee House Hotel, Kildare on September 26th. President of Network North Tipperary Mary Ryan Murray said: “Although Caroline is a new member to Network North Tipperary, she has clearly hit the ground running with this award win, which recognises the contribution made by women employees in business here in North Tipperary. She is an excellent addition to the Network and will represent us very well in in the national finals.”

The winners of all three categories will go on to the national finals. Tipperary Local Enterprise Office Tipperary, which sponsors the Network on an annual basis, is also sponsoring the New Emerging Business Category. The national sponsor AIB is supporting the Employee category. This year Shannon Airport has come on board as a new sponsor of the top award, the Existing Business category. Network North Tipperary is one of ten branches nationwide that is part of Network Ireland, a network group for women in business. North Tipperary (www.networknorthtipp.ie) members own businesses in fashion and knitwear design, online business management, marketing, accounting, web development, graphic design, restaurants, food production and much more.

The Network North Tipperary Business Awards Dinner will take place on Friday June 13th at 7pm. Tickets are available from Sarah Baker, Treasurer, tel 087-9690824 and cost €35pp for members and €40pp for non-members. The deadline for purchasing tickets is June 10th.
