Following on from the very successful meeting last Thursday, watch out for a bumper pack of walks on offer from April onwards.
The Club will have Tuesday evening hill walks, Thursday (daytime) and also some Saturday walks. These will all be circulated to members within the next few days and of course refer to our website nenaghwalk.ie to see what will be on offer. There will be something for all levels of walkers.
The club is also hosting an open day on February Saturday 16th in conjunction with the information meeting being held by the Camino Society of Ireland at Nenagh Lawn Tennis Club 11am - 12.30 and we would love to see any interested potential hill walkers on the day. Members will be on hand to answer any questions. Also on the day there will be a hike taking in the Arra Mountains 3.5 hours approx departing from the Tennis club at 12.30. Please note the next Sunday walk is on 24th February which will be a loop around Ballyhourigan Woods, contact John 087 2232923.
For the winter time and dark evenings, members of the club will walk the by-pass, 9k approx, departing from Tesco, 7.30. Contact Mary 087 2265926 or Martin 087 2562454.
Non-members are welcome to do 3 walks before joining the club, however, we would ask that non members would contact the walk leader prior to the walk to ensure that they have the fitness level required for the walk and discuss walking gear requirement. Likewise any members unsure of hike suitability should ring walk leader before the hike.
Membership of the club is €45 which includes membership of Mountaineering Ireland and also covers insurance from November to October. Hiking boots essential for all hill walks
